Unique rendition of the Goddess Medusa. For centuries, Medusa has been portrayed as this evil creature with snakes for hair and turning “good people” into stone if they were to look into her eyes. There are many old stories and myths written and told by men in power- quiet, manipulative ways to suppress women and the divine feminine. There is another story of who Medusa really was- this piece with the transparent light blue glow is Matt’s tribute to her. Keeping the snakes on purpose so see would be recognized, but painted as if she was a chiseled marble statue standing tall next to the other gods and goddesses.
